Clay Heitler has owned and operated Tampa-based Affordable Home Mortgage (now American Mortgage Services) since 1999.
Clay was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA, and relocated to Florida in the early 90’s. Clay graduated from University of South Florida in 1993 and is still an avid Bulls fan! Clay is an active member of Tampa Bay society and is the friendliest person you will ever meet!

Shannon is a returning employee that moved back to Tampa in the beginning of 2021. She brings 15 years of management experience to the team and loves her job! Shannon holds a degree in Business Administration, Summa Cum Laude, and currently lives in the north Tampa with her husband and two children.

Lindsey Randall has been serving as a Loan Processor since March 2021. Lindsey processed loans right out of college in 2003 and rejoined the AMS team in 2021. Lindsey graduated from the University of Mississippi in Finance and Management. Outside of processing, you can find Lindsey enjoying time with her family. She loves God, helping others and delicious food.

Marivel is new to Tampa Bay, rejoining the mortgage industry since she started in 2000. Originally from Houston, Texas, Marivel spent time raising her boys and helping with the family trucking business. In 2019 she relocated to Tampa, Florida. Marivel is excited to be a part of the American Mortgage Services Family as the Administrative Assistant. In her free time she loves to go to the beach and go Salsa dancing!

I wish I could give this company 10 stars. They are EXCEPTIONAL in every way. I wasted 35 days with another lender and finally pulled the plug to trust Clay and his team and I am so glad I did. They closed a loan in 2 weeks over Christmas when less than half the days were business days. It was truly unbelievable how they SAVED this deal. I would recommend AMS to any friends and family looking for a mortgage. I was a little skeptical at first to go with a company that I'd never heard of, but it ended up being one of the best decisions of my life! I spent countless hours speaking and working with Michael, Theresa, and the rest of the team there. They never made me feel like the nuisance I probably was; instead, they were incredibly patient, kind, and knowledgeable. Not only that, but they got me a great deal on my mortgage and made the whole process super easy for me! During the few attempts I made to shop around for myself, other lenders/brokers could not come close to the deal that AMS got for me. They even worked their butts off to help me close in less than a month from when our offer was accepted. I can't recommend them enough.
Lindsey and Lynn were both really great to work with! We had a quick closing and they always were very responsive and made sure everything was submitted to stay on schedule.
I would like to say I am not pleased with my loan officer Michael Bock whatsoever. I know how stressful closing on a home can be but this could have been a reality horror closing show! Not only does he lack basic communication skills to his clients he delayed my closing with multiple mistakes. However I will say despite his error and one of his team members TERRIBLE mistakes!, Joann on the other hand needs praise and more of it! We ended with her completing this process. I also respect Shannon the Office manager as she made sure to intervene and step in when needed. Michael if I can provide any advice it would no matter on who your clients or how big the closing is you need to be proactive with ALL clients as if theirs matter just as much as a million dollar closing cause regardless we all are equal. American Mortgage your services are amazing I would implement basic fundamentals for the officers if they are lacking people skills cause I know you guys are amazing but corrections can be made so EVERYONE has a good experience.

This was our first time buying a home so it was bit scary sometimes. The staff was super helpful and very knowledgeable which made the process a lot easier. We used them for finding our mortgage and home insurance. Both ended up being great deals.
We found our dream home but needed to close in 20 days. And we did! Clay is exceptional. It was around tax time and I needed to submit my business taxes as proof of income. My CPA couldn't get my taxes filed in time so Clay introduced me to his CPA, who completed my taxes within one day (on a Sunday before the tax deadline!) His CPA is now officially mine. JoAnne, our mortgage loan processor, is a rockstar. She was responsive and always answered my emails within minutes, no matter what time of day. I would recommend AMS to any friends and family looking for a mortgage. I was a little skeptical at first to go with a company that I'd never heard of, but it ended up being one of the best decisions of my life! I spent countless hours speaking and working with Michael, Theresa, and the rest of the team there. They never made me feel like the nuisance I probably was; instead, they were incredibly patient, kind, and knowledgeable. Not only that, but they got me a great deal on my mortgage and made the whole process super easy for me! During the few attempts I made to shop around for myself, other lenders/brokers could not come close to the deal that AMS got for me. They even worked their butts off to help me close in less than a month from when our offer was accepted. I can't recommend them enough.
Lindsey and Lynn were both really great to work with! We had a quick closing and they always were very responsive and made sure everything was submitted to stay on schedule.
I would like to say I am not pleased with my loan officer Michael Bock whatsoever. I know how stressful closing on a home can be but this could have been a reality horror closing show! Not only does he lack basic communication skills to his clients he delayed my closing with multiple mistakes. However I will say despite his error and one of his team members TERRIBLE mistakes!, Joann on the other hand needs praise and more of it! We ended with her completing this process. I also respect Shannon the Office manager as she made sure to intervene and step in when needed. Michael if I can provide any advice it would no matter on who your clients or how big the closing is you need to be proactive with ALL clients as if theirs matter just as much as a million dollar closing cause regardless we all are equal. American Mortgage your services are amazing I would implement basic fundamentals for the officers if they are lacking people skills cause I know you guys are amazing but corrections can be made so EVERYONE has a good experience.
